CHIKNI CHAMELI
Chikni Chameli is a Bollywood staple, and our client wanted to push out a project with this song, some local dancers, and new choreography to complement the hookstep that most South Asians across the world (and more) have ingrained in their heads. With 9 dancers, we had a lot of camera work and interesting shot movements to work with. In a tighter studio, we worked around limitations (e.g., passing the camera to each other down stairs to get a wide zoom out while maintaining movement continuity), and enhanced the lighting to ensure all 9 dancers were well-lit and within focus.
By the end, Chikni Chameli was an incredible dance project, representing some of our core dancer video offerings, completed often in a 2 hour shoot, standard 2-3 week turnaround on editing, and strong transitions between shots.
